Senior Payroll Specialist

Job Description
The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll as well as various special payrolls throughout the year.

Responsibilities include:
  • Process North American payroll using ADP software including processing any garnishments and special payroll adjustments 
  • Process local tax returns in certain jurisdictions and plan for quarterly and year end processes.
  • Maintain earnings and deduction code setup and W-2 mapping in ADP
  • Review payroll reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Provide timekeeping support to store teams including time sheet entry/corrections as well as various exception reports provided to store management
  • Prepare journal entries for each pay period and upload them into ERP System (Lawson) as well as reconcile and analyze payroll related accounts
  • Schedule all payrolls with ADP, monitor ADP invoices, reconcile 941 filings from ADP and maintain checklist for processing
  • Ensure all pay adjustments are made in the correct quarter and year by monitoring the ADP website for deadlines
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for various departments and upper management  
Qualifications required:
  • A High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 7 years of payroll and payroll tax experience is required; An Associate degree with 5 years of payroll and payroll tax experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing (ADP, Ceridian), timekeeping (Workbrain), and ERP system software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills and professional discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Strong organizational and analytical reasoning skills
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
