Human Resources Associate – Entry Level, Temporary or Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Job Description
The Human Resources (HR) Associate assists the Human Resource, Payroll and Store Teams with compliance activities for confidential associate onboarding, payroll actions, paperwork and other HR processes.  The associate also is responsible for communicating with store teams regarding general onboarding, HR and payroll questions as well as compliance concerns.  This is a great entry-level opportunity to join a Corporate HR team.  This is a full-time, long-term temporary assignment (approximately 6-9 months) that could lead to regular employment status.

Responsibilities:
  • Track, log and audit required HR recordkeeping documents from stores and headquarters locations to ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws (E-Verify, Social Security Administration [SSA], I-9s, etc.)
  • Prepare and issue all new hire kits and offer letters for Store Management hires in the U.S. and Canada
  • Prepare and issue all new store opening packets and coordinate the set-up for required pre-employment surveys
  • Complete employment verifications
  • Process all Corporate office HR document scanning and all Canadian associate filing
  • Enter all Outlook updates for Canadian stores; prepare and publish various associate reports for store use
  • Assist with various annual and other periodic processes such as preparing and issuing required annual notices, entering W-2 address updates, and annual tax form updates
  • Maintain confidentiality of all associate records and data
  • Respond  to inquiries from U.S. and Canadian stores; reply to HR and Payroll team requests
  • Assist the HR team with other duties and projects as assigned  
Qualifications:
  • An Associate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with a minimum of 1 year of HR administration experience.  A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel Outlook and PowerPoint; advanced skills in Excel functions/formulas are preferred
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a keen attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an focus on customer service
  • Experience with HR software such as Lawson, ADP and/or Workbrain is a plus.
